THE PARKER HOUSE ON MAIN

A realistic approach to fuller-looking hair

If your hair feels finer or thinner than it used to, the answer is rarely one miracle product or one haircut. At

The Parker House on Main, we look at the whole picture: your haircut, density, texture, scalp, styling

routine, products and expectations. Our goal is simple - help your hair look and feel its best without

promising something that is not realistic.

Fine hair and thinning hair are not the same thing

Fine hair refers to the diameter of each individual strand. Thinning hair generally means there is less density

than there used to be. You can have fine hair and a lot of it, or coarse hair that is thinning. That distinction

matters because the wrong haircut or too much layering can sometimes make already-thin hair look even

thinner.

The haircut comes first

For many clients, creating the appearance of fullness starts with shape. A stronger perimeter, thoughtful

layering and the right length can make a noticeable visual difference. Sometimes taking a little length off

actually makes the hair appear fuller. We design the cut around the hair you actually have rather than

forcing it into a style that works against your density.

Products and styling tools matter too

A good haircut should be supported by a home routine you can actually recreate. The right volumizing or

texturizing products, blow-dry technique, brush and styling tools can create lift, movement and the

appearance of more body. We also show clients how much product to use and where to put it, because

more product is not always better - especially on fine hair.

Davines, scalp care and Zenagen

We use and recommend Davines because its approach to hair and scalp care, ingredient sourcing and

sustainability fits the Parker House philosophy. Depending on the client's hair and scalp, we can

recommend Davines products that support a healthier-feeling scalp, lightweight volume and better styling

performance. We also carry Zenagen options for clients concerned about thinning or shedding. These

products are not a promise to regrow hair, and hair loss can have many causes, but they can be part of a

thoughtful hair-and-scalp routine for appropriate clients. Persistent or sudden hair loss should be discussed

with a medical professional.

Extensions are not only for length

Extensions can also be used strategically for fullness. For the right client, a small amount of carefully placed

extension hair can add density through areas that feel sparse without creating dramatically longer hair.

Extensions are not appropriate for every type of thinning, so we evaluate the health and density of the

natural hair first. Sometimes the best recommendation is extensions; sometimes it is a better cut and

home-care plan.

Our approach

We would rather be realistic than sell you something you do not need. The best plan may include a new

shape, different styling technique, better products, fullness extensions - or a combination of those things.

The goal is healthier-looking, fuller-looking hair that still feels like you.
